Obtain employer views on opportunities and hurdles involved in hiring business graduates
In 2009, 157 business schools participated and 2,092 employers, including 172 US Fortune 500 companies and 147 Global Fortune 500 companies, contributed to this research.
Participating employers receive free comprehensive reports not available to the general public and are entered into a drawing to receive one of five US$1,000 prizes.
Major Findings
- The employment outlook for 2009 business graduates is consistent with expectations for other industries.
- Demand is greatest for MBA graduates in the consulting, health care and pharmaceuticals, and energy and utilities sectors; for Masters in Management, consulting and high technology; and for specialized master’s in business degrees, finance and accounting.
- Employers nearly unanimously agreed that student quality was their number one school selection criterion (99%).

How to Participate
Employers receive an invitation to the online survey from either GMAC or one of the business schools with which they work. Attention: If your company hires students from graduate business programs, we want your feedback. Email us to secure your 2010 survey invitation.
School Career Services Professionals facilitate the survey by either sending invitations and survey links to their employers or by providing GMAC with their employer contact list. Attention: If you are a Career Services professional at a business school that offers graduate programs, you can help facilitate the survey. Email us to include your school in the next survey.
