2009 GMAC® Conference on CAT

The GMAC Conference on Computerized Adaptive Testing will be held June 2–3, 2009, in Minneapolis, MN.

The 2009 conference, which follows on the very successful GMAC CAT conference held in 2007, will once again be held at the Radisson University Hotel on the campus of the University of Minnesota.

Our goal is to bring researchers and practitioners together to improve practice and advance the field of CAT. The conference meeting proceedings and presentations will be published to promote the field, guide areas of further CAT research, and demonstrate appropriate applications of CAT procedures.

Call for Proposals

We seek proposals that investigate areas of practical and theoretical research in the field of CAT. Specific topics of interest include research detailing applications of CAT and innovations in CAT models and technology.

The conference will be structured around submitted paper presentations, with some tentative sessions focusing on international applications of CAT, funded CAT research programs, evaluations of CAT methods and procedures, new approaches to CAT, and applications of CAT to major testing programs. Research and other papers addressing any application or methodological issue in CAT are welcome.

Proposal Submission

Proposal length: 250–500 words

Proposals for paper sessions and poster sessions should address research in areas including, but not limited to: CAT models, CAT operations maintenance and monitoring, item exposure control, test security, new item types, and other innovative areas of CAT research. A strong emphasis will be placed on practical research detailing applications of CAT and new innovations. Research-based proposals should include the following information: theoretical framework, purpose, method, results, and conclusions. Both completed research and works-in-progress are welcome. Proposals for symposia focusing on CAT issues and methods are also welcome.

All proposals will be accepted through the University of Minnesota Abstract Collector.
