GMAC conducts this survey to track changes in application volume and applicant pool composition, including details about domestic, international, female, and U.S. minority applicant subgroups.

More than 250 business schools around the world submitted data to the 2008 Application Trends Survey for nearly 500 graduate management programs.

Findings from 2008 Data

  • Flexible MBA programs and traditional full-time MBA programs reported the strongest application volume.
  • Application volume remained essentially unchanged for part-time MBA programs and declined by 4% for EMBA programs this year.
  • Women submitted nearly 2/3 of the applications to part-time master’s in accounting programs, but less than 1/3 of applications to full-time, part-time lockstep, or executive MBA programs.
